Junk Mail - Does It Work

We all receive junk mail and one has to assume that companies would not send out all this stuff without some return but nobody that I know will admit to using it so why do they continue ?
And what do you do with yours.

I've sent spam email and spam messages before on random forums to advertise my own forum. (which, ironically, got hacked by spammers so I deleted)

I pick an email address from spam at random, then forward all my spam to it. I change them once a month.

Unless the spammer has picked up on some innocent person's email and is using that, in which case you are subjecting them to additional spam (and risk having your address classed as a spammer).

Far better to forward to a spam registration service, such as BAYES, that will then be used to update spam classification for the benefit of all.

Junk through my letter box is hellish.  I am registered with MPS  - free service click here...

http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

Though this only stops mail with your name on which you did not solicit.  Other junk mail which piles up on your doorstep can be stopped via the post office, all that without yoru name on it, but this also stops all the local stuff which you may like to get, e.g. Town Crier, Calne news etc..

Send it back in all the freepost envelopes is what I do if I have time.

Spam mail does not particularly bother me at all.  It costs nothing and is dead easy to elliminate.

The junk mail is so much these days.
i fill the free envelopes with it then post it .
if i have a load then i reuse a large envelope that way they have to pay to get it from the post office.
its like the bags you get through the doorfor charity.they make great cat litter liners

sorry postman but I would ban all unsolicited mail, emails and telephone calls.

The success rate on junk post is in the region of 1% or less.

The weight of rubbish thrown away is immense and a total waste of natural resources, why do we allow them to do it?
