John Lewis List?

What do you reckon? Should our hard working MPs be able to use our hard earned taxes to furnish their second homes?

no.  nor should they be able to return to working for, or receiving any payments from or for services to, any company.  Nor should their spouses, children or siblings, and any other relatives who are in such advantageous positions should be notifiable and stated as and when the occasions arise.  Any MP who chooses to conveniently 'forget' to announce auch connection should be fined thrice the sum gained and, if a second or later offence, should be publically placed in stocks for a day in Parliament Square for the public to choose how to deal with such perfidious villainy.

Well said Geddi.

Rotten tomatoes.

I don't see why the General public/taxpayers should have to pay for things such as Plasma TV's or a new kitchen for an MP. It's also a bit of a cheek to claim for a Mortgage on a second house and then get to keep the keys when the payments are all met.

No, and no to nepotism too.
GTB

Nepotism runs deep in the Westminster sleaze which encompasses all  major parties. The recent case where an MP (can't remember his name at the moment) hired his son as a research assistant on a salary of £13,000 per annum is just one example. There was no proof that any of this money was legitimately earned.

The age old caricature of MPs depicted as pigs feeding in the trough filled with taxpayers money is as apt today as it was 300 years ago.

AHH! but it's such a shame they have to work long hours away from their familys  ..their mistresses would get bored without a TV
