Hi Spook and Welcome to the site.
In reference to the schools in Calne and in particular the autistic aspect. Holy Trinity has an autistic centre, which is well established and the school as a whole is one of the best in Calne. My kids go there and love it.
The phone number is - 01249 812424 - Mr Heale is the headmaster.
If your living off Abbered way then Priestley school is your closest, which has recently had good SAT results.

Abbeyfield schol is however on the Calne-side of Chippenham (just at the start of the town) so you don't get sucked up into the Chippenha rush-hour too much (as you would if you went to one of the other secondary schools on the other side of town).

Shame you cant get into Bentley, it's a real good school, Abbeyfields is your other option, or Wootton Bassett school Or Devizes School.
There is Sheldon and Hardenhuish in CHippenham, but thats a journey from hell in the mornings !
I have to agree with Local a little bit in respect to Abberd way and page close. They are spending alot of money on it in the coming months to try and rejuvinate the area, its not to bad to be honest bbut does need tidying up
Are there any other places you were looking at to move to ?

Abberd Way/Colemans is a very run-down area and generally looks like an absolute slum.
I don't think there's much serious crime there apart from kids messing about, but the flats nearby have a huge drug problem.
Best of luck it'll be better than the cities

I take it you've never seen a real slum then - it's a long way from that bad.

I lived in South London for a while... so yeah, I kinda know what a slum looks like.

So did I, and it doesn't look that bad.

It's nowhere near as bad as the cities.
But it'd classify as poor anywhere I've been. It's the classic council estate fare but it DOES look terrible due to being seemingly abandoned by the people who should be looking after it. Inner-city slums usually have more maintenance. Maybe a refurb even.
