Have i killed it ??

I have (had!) an apple tree, it has 3 types of apple on it...... now because im doing our garden it had to be moved from the barrel it was in to somewhere else

1st i put it in a large pot, but although i watered it loads, with all the hot weather we had, it seemed to be dying.....
so ive moved it again, to a shaded place, ive watered it well and have also fed it......
anyone got any ideas what else i can do to try and save it??

Ive not got my grren fingers yet    so any ideas would be great.

The best gardening advice I was ever given was: always plant green side up!

The little ones are the important ones they take up the water.

Well i wont give up hope just yet, it still has green leaves and i keep watering it........so if i talk nicely to it, it just might live (dont think i'll hold my breath though)

Kathy: where the ground is is usually the midpoint of deciduous trees.  When you do anything to affect the roots you affect the tree's ability to take up water.  The upper leafy, fruiting parts are where the tree evapotranpirates from, meaning it loses water from here.  The problem is water.

Do likewise unto the top which hast been done unto the root and redress a balance.

In other words - prune the top and prune hard!  It may survive another year, though you'll have lost all chance of fruit from it for this year.   Do this and drench it daily with a few gallons of water and it may yet live.

P.s. keep the depth of planting exactly as it was before you moved it.

Great!   Plants are sometimes tougher than we give credit for.
