I "died" about four years ago now(doa), and lost a good few days of my life afterwards. Is there a god, i don't know, all I can say is that it was the most peaceful time of my life.
I was brought up with religion (both jewish and spiritualist), yet I have remained for the best part a born again atheist/borderline agnostic.
My grandmother (who died last year) was a well known spiritualist medium, who had people from all over the world to see her. She never charged (unlike some charlatans), but if people wished, they could donate to one of the many charities that she supported. In my book, religion is up to the individual and is about personal choice. Another way to look at it, if there is a god, then on judgement day we will have some explaining to do!

i think there is.i do belive that god gave us the earth and left to the humans to work it out.there is a cure for every illness and diesese somewhere on this earth.
i do belive in life after death and the fact that at some point we have all walked the earth before.

I would like to but I think when all is said and done there is not even a shred of evidence to support such a notion. Religion is a remnant of stone age man's attempt at trying to give purpose to the world around him.
That said, if someone wants to believe in such a thing then fine - it's a free country.

I think whether you believe in God is immaterial what is important is that you live life because it is not a rehersal and treat others as you would like to be treated

Well said Bear :thumbr: I am a spiritualist and have nearly died, I saw the other side and it was beautiful, unless you have proof it is difficult for some to comprehend it all, I do believe that what you do to others will return to you, but everyone is free to make their own choice and as you said treat others how you would like to be treated and in my opinion you cant go wrong :)

Is that why you call yourself Angel?

Well as you asked so nicely I will answer :) since I was a child I have been infatuated with Angels and in churches I was drawn to the statues of them, I never knew why they held such amazement for me until I grew, it was then I took a great interest in why I was here etc past lives and life after death. I visited spiritual churches to be told by a very good medium (not a charlaton) that I had had at least 500 years in past lives within the church, I was a nun, a priest, a monk, a minister during these lives and I was persecuted for my beliefs.
I have taught spiritual classes last year in a group and write spiritual verse and poetry, many I have had published, I dont shout my faith from the rooftops I just enjoy life and quietly move with it all, an Earth Angel is someone who returns to this place in order to help and assist anyone that comes into their path, I concider myself an Earth Angel so yes thats why I call myself Angel, and no I havent lost the plot hehe :) :)

On Friday I watched a film starring Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage called "City of Angels" and would love to think it's premise was true. If you havent watched it give it a go, it's a love story and would be probably classed as a "chick flick" but I enjoyed it immensely

I was brought up with it and made to go to church on Sunday etc. Not rammed down my throat just taken to Church.
I have to agree with your sentiment and in fact endorse it more strongly. I cannot understand why humans feel they have to be so conceited as to expect us to be anymore important than any other animal. We just lucked out and ended up top of the food chain.
I don’t se any other animals worshipping the Sun or any other deity.
I absolutely shudder when I think of the poor number of souls that have been slaughtered and tortured in the name of religion, in fact if you think about it can you tell me the last major loss of life via aggressive means by one group of people on this planet that was not carried out in the name of religion or to improve their tribes religious standing.
The beliefs and faiths are also dispirit that there will NEVER be peace and all in the name of one religion or another.
Having ranted all that I also believe strongly in freedom of speech and democracy so if you wish to indulge…. Hey fill your boots.

I used to go to chippenham church on a wed evening, I am hoping to start a class soon if I can get enough people and a place to hold it, It is a fascinating subject so if I am lucky I will let you know.
The class I taught included how to meditate and the basics of mediumship and everything spiritual :)

I think that religion is merely the remnants of pre-historic man's inability to explain the happenings of our Universe. Why intelligent people have to dress up in gowns and pointy hats to praise an supernatural deity that has no factual basis is way beyond me. Still, who I am to judge? :D

What costs are involed for people who want to go to the class?

When I did the one off class I charged 10 pounds it was a workshop and lasted from 10 00 until 3pm and everyone brought a plate of something for lunch I had a lot of good feed back on it, but I dont really want to do a one off class this time I would like it to be ongoing maybe meet one evening a fortnight and pay 3 pounds each, depending on if I need to hire a room.
I would start with the basics of spiritualism and include a visualisation meditation each week questions and answers and discussions plenty of input and go on from there.
It would actually be a developement circle for those interested in developing their psychic skills and 6th sense that we are all born with but few use. :) :)
