was listning to radio two today and they had a debate on should it be made compulsary for people to wear cycle helmits.this started after a judge said that should a cyclist be involved in a accident then the amount of compensation that he should recieve should be a lot less if he wasnt wearing a helmit.as its partly there fualt for not having the proper protection.
i thought it should be untill some one said the problem of that is it would open the flood gates of cases like if someone was to cross a road and they wernt wearing a helmit would they be percieved that they never had the proper protection.
it was quite a good debate but still not sure of the answer.

i work in the construction industry, if we have an accident and we are not wearing the proper saftey gear (helmet gloves)etc any compensation claim will be reduced by 50%
