Cook, Angel, Martin, Williams, Webb, Crawleye

As you may have gathered from that little collection of names, I've got quite a bit of interest in Calne in terms of my family tree!

Wiltshire in general features heavily in my current research path, but for the sake of not overwhelming this post, I've kept it to those who were born and died in Bremhill and Calne.

My most recent link is my 5x greatgrandmother Hannah Cook, b. Feb 1763 in Bremhill (parents Baldwin Cook b. 12 May 1734 and Mary Angel b. 4 Apr 1758).

I haven't gone any further back on the Cook side than Baldwin's parents.

But the Angel/Angell side goes back a fair way and encompasses the other names mentioned.

I would dearly love to know of anybody else researching these names for this area for possible collaboration.

I've never been to Calne and plan to visit at some point given the strong ancestral link I have with the place.

Hi Sarah,

I also reasearching my famlily history and will say that going right back tothe 1500's it's pretty much all based in Wiltshire.

I go to the records centre in chippenham quite a bit, so if you ever need some info ...... give me a shout and i'll see if i can help.

In respect to the names you have put down .......

There are still Angels and Cooks living in the town that are linked to the names of old .........

I think you may find one on this very message board ! but i'll leave it up to him or her to contact you ...........
