Debate and Calne needs

I wonder if we might put together a set of needs to pressure local authorities for Calne's needs. I am a local businessman and local Councillor at NWDC, I hope, with the assistance of the Town Council, the Chamber of Trade and local bodies such as the NSPCC we can get a list of prioroties to pass on to the new Council body when it is set up.

If we do this as one of the first the maybe Calne will rise up the list of importance.

Why not? It would be good to have a summary topic that shows perhaps the top 10 'needs' that are quick for a visitor to see and appreciate, wthout having to dive into all the discussion threads - perhaps this could be moderator-maintained?

All the sections are moderator-maintained

A new forum has now been created called "Calne Needs..." in the Debate section.

who decides what those top 10 topics are?

if chuck is a current district councillor why will he not let us know who he is. it might help voters understand his position on all sorts of topics. are you also a town councillor?

Well, I was hinting that I thought it ought to be a moderator, as they run the site. I don't think any one forum poster should, even if (or perhaps especially if) they are a councillor.

Anybody can decide what the topics are in the Calne Needs section. If you have an idea that might benefit Calne or think that the town is bereft of something then post it in Calne Needs.

Chuck ie me is a District Councillor with thte name - you've guessed it, Chuck. There is only one!

LOL Chuck

The new Authority will establish local area boards and the Calne board will be made up of Authority councillors, town councillors local community groups and members of the public will be encourage to come and take part in discussions (although they will not be allowed to vote).
The area boards will have a small financial budget (amount to be determined) which hopefully will be spent in the Calne area.

This should give some power back to the locals.

I understand Mr Chuck Berry is a district councillor for Minety and lives in Malmesbury. Chuck has a small business on the Portemarsh Estate.

Chuck please advise if I have made any incorrect comments.
