Calne Leisure Centre LtdCalne Leisure Centre Ltd is an Industrial Provident Society for the benefit of the community (not for profit). None of its 11 directors are paid, 7 of them are electable on an annual basis. Of the remaining 4 2 are nominated by the Calne Town Council, I represents the schools and the last the user council (yet to be established)Anyone can buy the right to vote at general meetings by purchasing a share fo £10.00 There are 681 shareholders, we even have one in Australia, owning 1 share each. The centre is now open after some £150,000 of refurbishment, which was carried out by contractors and volunters.
