Calne Cinema at the town hallRecently the numbers attending the showings at the town hall have decreased, especially the 3pm showing.
We need to encourage to use this valuable facility before we loose it!
The organisers told me they were happy for me to advertise, their next film, in a hope more people will come.

The idea of a local cinema is a good one, but £5 is a high price to pay. It is more expensive than 'proper' cinemas. Also, the Summer weather does not make it appealing to be sitting indoors in the afternoons when there are far more pleasing things to be doing in the garden or anywhere outdoors.
One idea to keep attendance up is to collect email addresses from those who do attend, or show any interest, and add them to a mailing list for each showing. A gentle reminder is often all people need.

Anyone remember queing for the old cinema in the 60s & 70s?
We used to go on Saturday afternoons for 6 old pence. Great building with a curved roof always packed but then very few had TV.

It's actually cheaper than the swindon cinemas, They are both at about £6.00 per adult now !!
I think if it were better advertised then perhaps more people would know about it and use it.
But i can honestly say that i have never seen it advertised !!

The Gazette will hopefully be advertising it from now on.
You're right it is cheper than Swindon etc because its cheaper to get in and cheaper to get to (petrol costs).
There are many seniors, who can't afford the trek to swindon, and it would be a shame if they lost the chance to go to the cinema.
