Bye election Lickhill WardWell it seems that Lickhill Ward will be having another bye election following the resignation of Conservative councillor Mrs A Pier. This will be the 3rd bye election since the normal elections in May 2007.
Lickhill will have had to put up with far to many elections in recent times;
June 2009 Wiltshire Council
April 2009 Calne Town bye election (Mr J Ireland)
March 2008 Calne Town bye election
? 2007 bye election Calne Town (Mrs J Martin)
May 2007 District & Town elections
There will have to be a general election between now and May 2010.
The chances are that a bye election will take place in January 2010.
I know personal circumstances change but why are there so many resignations of councillors representing Lickhill Ward?

The Town Council is a very busy and responsible body it takes a lot of work I suspect as much as being a Unitary Councillor on the frontline (ie the back benches) no pay which I guess has an influence.
Not sure that politics is the issue though so I will not reply to the poll but it is a shame as Andrea is a good young Mum who can add quite a dela to the role.
Cheers Chuck
I know its beEn a while!!!

Chuck the point was that Lickhill Ward have had to put up with to many bye elections. If you stand for election one would assume that you are aware of the work load in front of you.
Every election cost money which comes out of our taxes.
With voter turn out falling at every election, to many of them will not improve it.
