People keep on about the "Great Storm" of 1987 around Wiltshire but I don't think it was anything as bad as the storm we had in January 1990. There was trees down everywhere during that storm and quite a few chimneys blown off roofs - which was great because I had to build them back up.

The one we had in 1990 nearly killed me. On way to do my paper round, and a wall falls over in front of me. It was a foot path, and I was going to fast to stop so I rode over the wall.

I'm working in Marlborough at the moment so the drive along the A4 is a bit more blowy in the mornings at the moment. You still get the odd idiot zoom past you at more than 70 mph.
