I think it's a waste of time really. Is there really a need for people to stand up and confirm their loyalty to the Queen and country? The yanks have been doing it for years, mainly because they are scared of anything to do with communism, so they indoctrinate their children into becoming imperialistic zombies. I am a Royalist at heart but I don't see any need for myself to make a statement to that effect to some name-tag in an ill fitting suit.

it is a waste .its wrong for someone to be made to do it .i would refuse .i would pledge a oath to my country but not to the queen i am not a big fan of the royal family and could take them or leave them.

I dont need to swear alliegance to my country because I live in my country, Britain, however there are people living in this country who are not in their country of origin and if the chips were down which side of the fence would they be on in the event of a confrontation. We need to know that these people who want the benefits that come with being British are prepared to make the sacrifices that are sometimes necessary to preserve our way of life
