About time

http://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk...1_75_million_football_pitches.php

work has now started .it will be good for calne and may encourage more kids to do sports.

I am glad that they are not extending the housing estate to go across the by pass.Calne in recent years has had to many new house`s built.

Not sure it's necessarily just that fact that lots of new houses were built, but more the way and place they were built: they appear to have been concentrating in squeezing in as many as they could without worrying about access/quality of life concerns. PLus no attempt to improve infrastructure/services in the town to accompany its increase in size (that I can see anyway!).

More houses we get, the better it is.

how do you work that out????

If you go back 30 years, you could buy almost everything in Calne, now with alot more houses, we just dont have the shops to deal with the demand. I dont think more houses is a good idea.

I have no drive, no garden, and live in a practical rat run but I'm not unhappy

Then you are easily pleased and fair play to you.

As for the lack of facillities Calne is just reflecting what is happening in the rest of the country, more houses for increasing population but no more jobs hospitals prisons etc it is a recipe for disaster

thats fine stfc i would also hazard a guess that you have no children living with you either.
