I am completely neutral to this. As most debates would fit into the other forums.
I.E. Does calne need a new supermarket? This would go in the calne topic.
were we right to invade iraq? This would go in general chat.
If you add too many forums, then people will get confused about where to find things. for example, someone see's something about calne and tries to look for it in the calne section. But eventually finds it in the debate section. At the end of the day, all topics are debates.

I sort of agree with Clunk here - most topics that are posted are open for debate anyway - the sections bit should be more to describe what they are about (Calne, Games, World News etc.).

Ok it was just a idea.A forum i go on has two sections one is for light banter like you would have the small things like a ahappy birthday thread/jokes/what happened in your day the other section of debate would hold subjects what would cause a debate and make you think a little ie ,like the war agree or not,sarahs law.

We now have what I feel is our maximum number of 3 debating forums on this site. I have renamed the section Chat to a more appropriate title of Debate. There is only three forums in this section; The Calne Political Chamber, Calne Talk and General Discussion. The first is strictly political, the second is for town gossip and the third for discussion about world or national affairs.
The Games Room, Swap Shop and Sport have been moved to the new section The Back Page.
