The application was deferred because the councillors were worried about the access to the site.
The updated story is on the Gazette website somewhere!

in other words the councillors took the easy route, because whichever way it went there will be people who will be upset.
the site needs building on so approve it but reduce the number of houses. seems simple to me.
when the town council objected to the bungalows being demolished and replaced by houses (just up the road from the garage site) because of traffic concerns we were ignored! _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

| They were all in favour of the site actually being developed ... but were worried about drivers not being able to see children queueing outside the shop. |
