The great English central defender Tony Adams has just been sacked by Portsmouth - the latest in a long line of managers to be sacked this season in the premiership. His latest misdemeanour was to manage a team who lost out to Liverpool in the last couple of minutes of a match despite leading them twice.
Can once great players make good managers? Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, Trevor Francis and Bryan Robson's managerial record would suggest otherwise.
