A series of events taking place at Calne Heritage Centre from Wednesday 29 July to Saturday 1 August, as part of the festival of British Archaeology.

Wednesday 29 July to Saturday 1 August - Exhibition
Display of finds from local sites, incuding some recently found and from the collections of the Wiltshire Heritage Museum. Open 10am to 4pm.

Wednesday 29 July
Two talks about the project and the Roman period, from 7.30pm:
1. 'Seeking Roman Calne: what we have found out so far' by David Dawson
2. 'Cash and Corn - why there are so many Roman hoards in Wiltshire' by Sam Moorhead

Roman Family Fun Day - Saturday 1 August.
Activities for all the family. 10am to 4pm.

Booking not necessary.
Entry is free to Calne Heritage Centre.

HI Biggles,

I went to the evening talk and yes it was very good,there was a good turn out of about 40 people and there were lots of exibits on show.

There will hopefully be somefield walking and archaeology in the coming months to follow on from it.

DavidD - the auther here is the curator of the Museum in Devizes and a whole lot more as well, if you ever have any questions, he's a great person to ask .......
