What do you all think? are the doctors right? are the public right? Its only MP's that are holding out saying that there is no evidence that 4 weeks makes any difference

dam right the doctors are right.
at eight weeks old it has developed hands and feet.
i dont agree in abotions anyway only under extreme cirrcumstances.ie rape,if the child is severly disabled
i know a couple of people who do it as a kind of birth control.
sorry but if your mature anough to have sex then you are mature anough for the concequences |

Angel, why not set up a poll to gauge peoples opinion?
I personally think that abortion is an abhorrent operation that should not be carried out in such an easy fashion. If abortion is to be carried out it should be done only in extreme cases such as major disability where the child has no chance of survival or quality of life or cases where the woman has been raped. The fact that some women have been using abortion as a method of contraception just about sums up societies morals.
I have three children and each time during the early stages of the pregnancy we were asked if we wanted to have a downs syndrome test. Each time we rejected the test because even if we did find out we were having a downs child we would not have killed it (which is what abortion is!). _________________

Edit your original post, Angel and you will see the Poll option at the bottom of the screen, enter a question and then fill in the other windows as required. _________________

I get all weird on this subject, although some would say I am weird anyway so what the hell.
Abortion is a strange thing. We make excuses to kill a child we don't know before it is even born. People who feel strongly about that I have to say I can easily feel with them. Those women, and a few men, who harp on about 'womens' rights' to have abortions should have kept their legs together tighter!
No time is the right time. It's a matter about which I feel quite strongly. I never planned a child who survives to this day, yet I never yet had any urge what-so-ever to terminate/abort/kill any child I have created. _________________ Democracy is dead. |

Every week makes a difference. My opinion on this matter is that I do not agree with it, unless there is exceptional circumstances like in the case of rape, or serious medical grounds.
The problem seems to be that too many women are using it as a late form of birth control, and this day and age there is plenty of available contraception. Anyway, as this matter is one that effects more women than men (for obvious reasons), I also think that it should be left to women to decide, in principal. |

How come you can legally carry out an abortion of a perfectly healthy child upto 24 weeks in gestation (and even get paid for it!) yet it would be illegal to kill a child who was born at 22 weeks suffering from a crippling illness?
How can any Doctor carry out the termination of a perfectly healthy child? I certainly couldn't do it. _________________

Totally agree gtb,
i think it should be illegal it abort any healthy child (unless concived through rape or there is a danger to the mother)
lets face it, if a child or adult come to that has an incurable illness, doctors are not allowed to help them on their way!
so why is it right to kill a healthy child? |
