He has certainly made a better than expected start at Spurs. It's still early days yet and Spurs are not out of the woods yet.
I think the recent trend amongst clubs to employ a Director of Football as well as a manager/coach seems to have been put on the back burner after the problems it has caused at football teams such as Spurs and Newcastle Utd. Can you imagine someone telling Alex Ferguson who to buy and who to sell amongst his squad?? :'(
