With all the talk about a better balance of shops there are some posts saying that traffic problems are to blame for their refusal to shop in Calne. We have had one bypass in recent years (circa 1994) which joined the A4 to the northern end of the Oxford Road but would Calne benefit from a bypass for heavy traffic from the Oxford Road roundabout (where the bypass joins) back onto the A4 out near Cherhill or similar?

Any thoughts?

But if im going out to cherhill to come back into town i may as well keep going to Devizes after all im half way there!
